A RADIO FOR MANY VOICES AT THE ROSTOCK G8 :

Forty Community radio journalists from more than twenty
countries are producing and broadcasting programs in 6 languages, available via
internet and satellite 24/24. This is the radio coverage organized by the
European section of the World Association of Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) for the
G8 Summit in Heiligendamn and for the alternative summit in Rostock, which end
on June 8.
“We are very pleased” says Francesco Diasio, AMARC Europe Coordinator, “ we
didn’t expect such a large participation of community radio journalists. Our
German Free Radio Federation (BFR) colleagues did put in place excellent
technical infrastructure to make all this possible.”. The multilingual channel
is broadcasting all day long on the MIR Satellite channel – Med Info Radio : the
program is available in several languages allowing for sufficient room for round
tables and for debates on the official and the alternative Summit main themes :
environment, migrations, war and peace movements and also some on the ground
reports by correspondents.

“ The World Association of Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) once again is involved to
support the community radio and the social movements with which we share values
of non violence, human rights recognition for women and men, respect of the
environment and most of all Peace” adds Mr.Diasio.
